REVISTA DE LETRAS is the scientific journal of the Department of Letters, Arts and Communication, of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal. It started publishing in December 1997, with 19 paper issues (six from series 1 and thirteen from series 2). It is currently published in digital format and accepts submission of articles and reviews in the following scientific areas: Language Sciences, Cultural Sciences, Communication Sciences and Literary and Artistic Studies. Each issue of the journal will be dedicated exclusively to one of these scientific areas. All articles are submitted to the appreciation of two external referees, both from the specific scientific area to which the subject of the article relates.
